YEAHHHH BACK FROM RETREAT ( tl;dr it was awesome. )

i got my host person and sent her an email. we're supposed to attach a photo of our family but i don't think we have any non-stupid family photos fffff i need to find a normal-looking one. her name is yui murata and she likes singing, shopping, and baseball. singing's a good common ground, and we can definitely take her shopping as much as she wants, but baseball? i asked mrs. matano about it and she was all, "well your family's into basketball, right? same thing." and i was like aaaaaaaaaaaa what i don't know anything about baseball

on a somewhat related note, i'll be going to japan for about a week in the summer (in addition to the usual hong kong and taiwan). IF ANYONE WANTS ME TO BUY THEM ANYTHING LET ME KNOW LOL

too much stuff to do in the next few days before i leave for retreat -- mixing and packing and possibly an rp app (??? SHUT UP I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE;;;;) and homework and YOUR ART REQUESTS I AM SORRY EJXFKLRSJKCVMCN

...... so obviously i ended up reading deadman wonderland, because reading manga is always productive. but HO FUCK, i never really talk about fandom or my fandom likes and dislikes or whatever, but oh my god this series;;; it has like EVERYTHING I LIKE IN A SERIES, EVER. i mean sure not EVERYTHING but hey -- plenty of blood (they FIGHT WITH IT, seriously), tournament-style shounen, amazing artwork, and the characters holy fucking fuck the fucking characters. if anything, it's that that's EXACTLY what i like, traitors and liars and masks and DARK PASTS -- but not the dark pasts that make you SIT IN A CORNER AND SLIT YOUR WRISTS WOE DON'T TALK TO ME I AM WORTHLESS, no, more like the dark pasts that make you FUCKING NUTS and KILLING PEOPLE (with a smile~) IS AWESOME and IMMA SMASH YOUR FUCKING BRAINS OUT, GRAPHICALLY, AND WITHOUT CENSORS, and aaaaaaaaaaaaa i love this, yesssssss

also, since (a) rebecca's doing it, (b) there was a shortage of people, (c) sharon seemed to be really enthusiastic about it, and (d) i DID go so i kind of owe them, i decided to host a japanese exchange student for a week in march. kind of iffy about it but also pretty excited. i should probably brush up on my japanese, haha. (i haven't even been going to class zx,mcvnxc;;;) they'll be here around the same time as the musical in march (did i even mention that i'm in the musical dammit i need to post more), so i'll post about it then.

OH YEAH AND THERE WAS A SNOW DAY :)

found out my eighth grade tech teacher died yesterday. we'd just been talking about him at dinner and how TOTALLY AWESOME his class was and then we went home and he was dead, and it was weird.



posting from my dad's office, i can hear the chinese worship outside and THEY ALWAYS SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM FOR SOME REASON (or some chinese song to the tune of the us national anthem, what). kind of iffy about going to winter retreat this year, for various reasons that i don't feel like going into right now, but i figure i've always had so much fun and it's my last chance to go, so i might as well.
